Celebrity Blogger Perez Hilton Hospitalized After Mental Health Crisis During TikTok Livestream

Celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton was taken to a Miami hospital Tuesday night after viewers watching his TikTok livestream alerted emergency services about his condition. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office confirmed it received multiple calls about a person livestreaming self-harm on social media. Deputies located his home, spoke with family members at the scene, and confirmed he was alone inside. He was safely removed from the residence by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and transported to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention. TikTok suspended his account shortly after the incident.

How Police Handled It

Officers chose to de-escalate rather than force entry. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said that in situations involving someone experiencing a mental health crisis, deputies prioritize creating time, distance, and communication opportunities rather than direct confrontation, particularly when there is no immediate threat to others. The approach allowed the situation to resolve peacefully. Licensed mental health professionals were also present and provided support to family members at the scene.

Statement From His Managers

Hilton’s co-CEOs, Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, released a joint statement saying they were aware of the concerning content circulating online. They said they had not yet been able to make direct contact with him and that their primary concern was his health and the wellbeing of his family. They asked the public to respect his privacy during this difficult time.

Who Perez Hilton Is

Born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., Hilton, 48, built his name in the early 2000s through his celebrity gossip website PerezHilton.com, which became one of the most visited entertainment sites on the internet at its peak. In June, he announced his family had relocated from Las Vegas back to Miami.
