Perez Hilton Update: Family Confirms He Is Receiving Medical Care, Asks Public for Privacy

Official Statement Released

Perez Hilton’s family and management team released a statement Wednesday through his official website confirming he is hospitalized and receiving medical attention. The statement was signed by his family and his talent agency, Golden Artists Entertainment. It said all focus right now is on his health and recovery, thanked fans for their support, and asked the public to respect his privacy. His managers, Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan, separately told media outlets they had not yet been able to make direct contact with him despite ongoing efforts.

What Happened Tuesday Night

Hilton, 48, went live on TikTok Tuesday evening from his home in the Westchester neighborhood of Miami, where he had recently relocated after three and a half years in Las Vegas. Viewers watching became alarmed and started calling 911. The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls from concerned members of the public and dispatched rescue teams and fire units to his residence.
Deputies confirmed Hilton was alone inside the home at the time. Officers chose to de-escalate rather than force entry, a standard approach for mental health calls where no immediate threat to others exists. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said its protocol in such situations involves creating time, distance, and communication opportunities rather than direct confrontation. The approach worked. Hilton was safely removed from the home by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and taken to a local hospital, where he remains under medical care. TikTok suspended his account within minutes of the stream ending and removed the video from the platform, though clips had already spread across other social media sites.

Fans Flooded Social Media

Within hours of the incident, Hilton’s name became one of the top trending topics across multiple platforms. Fans, former collaborators, and fellow media personalities posted messages of concern and support. Several celebrities who had publicly clashed with Hilton in the past also posted wishing him well, reflecting how seriously the entertainment community took the news.

A Difficult Year Before This

Tuesday’s crisis came after an already painful stretch for Hilton. In March, he spent nearly three weeks hospitalized after developing sepsis from a perforated ulcer. He had been taking flu medication on an empty stomach, which caused the rupture. He later said he came close to death during that stay, describing complications that affected his heart and required multiple rounds of treatment. After recovering, he shared that the experience had transformed him spiritually and that he felt it had given him a new sense of purpose.
In June, just weeks before Tuesday’s incident, Hilton posted a video announcing his family’s move back to Miami from Las Vegas. He appeared upbeat in the clip, saying he felt spiritually called to return to Florida. That video now reads differently in light of what happened.

His Career and Public Image

Hilton built his name in the mid-2000s through PerezHilton.com, a celebrity gossip site that became one of the most visited entertainment destinations on the internet at its peak. His aggressive, often mocking coverage of celebrities generated enormous traffic but also drew consistent criticism. Demi Lovato publicly accused him of cyberbullying. Lady Gaga wrote an open letter in 2013 describing his behavior toward her as stalking. Mila Kunis criticized his approach in a 2018 interview. Over time, Hilton acknowledged the damage his early work had caused. In his 2020 memoir, he apologized to those he had targeted and said he was committed to a more positive approach to his platform. He is a father of three children born via surrogacy.
No further update on his condition has been released as of this report.
