‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Actor James Handy Killed at 81 — Girlfriend’s Son Arrested
James Handy, 81, is dead. The veteran Hollywood actor was stabbed at his Tarzana home Wednesday morning, and his girlfriend’s son is now in custody.
What Happened
At around 9:30 a.m. on June 3, Los Angeles police received a 911 call. The caller said: “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.” Officers arrived at a home on Erwin Street in Tarzana and found Handy unconscious in the front yard with a stab wound to his chest. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
The suspect, 44-year-old Michael Gledhill, did not run. He walked up to arriving officers and told them he was the person they were looking for. Gledhill lived at the home with his mother, Wendy Gledhill, 76 — Handy’s girlfriend. He has been charged with murder and his bail set at $2 million
